I woke up on New Years Day with chips in my hand. A far difference from how I woke up last year, engaged. It’s hard to leave 2017. Yeah sure, we have a complete piece of shit as president who spent most of the year slashing helpful programs, denying climate change and giving more money to wealthy. But 2017 is also the year I got married. The best day of my life with quite the handsome fella.
Now I’m here in 2018 and wondering how I can top that. I came up with a few things such as running in 5 races and somehow getting rid of Toms mustard yellow sweater. I also saw that all the Harry Potter movies are on HBO and I’m definitely going to be watching every single one of them. Ultimately though, I decided my first task would be doing the Whole 30.
The Whole 30 is something I’ve been interested in for awhile but just lacked the time to really delicate myself to it. It’s not just cutting out a few things….it’s very detailed and requires special attention for the entire 30 days. That means giving up things that I truly love…like dairy, desserts, and BREAD. This will not be easy as evidence of the fact I woke up yesterday and immediately drank a Coke to help with my hangover. Day 1 and I already had failed. So starting Day 1 on January 2nd was way more realistic.
While doing the Whole 30, I’m going to document my experience here. After reading all the testimonials, I’m really looking forward to seeing some changes in myself. I know already that I do not respond to dairy well, but it seems like a lot of people have that issue. I really am hoping to see a difference in my skin and just how I feel day to day. Hoping for positive results … we will see!
I really want to focus this year on myself and making myself a better person. I want to read more. I want to learn how to use a camera (not a camera phone) and get into photography. I want to work on saving money for a house and being more responsible financially. Tom and I want children and I think focusing on myself and my well being, physically and emotionally will put me on a better path when that happens. Excited about this year and what it will bring.
=)
